Important Notice

Microsoft officially ended support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020. This means no more security updates, bug fixes, or technical support. If possible, consider upgrading to Windows 10 or Windows 11 for better security and performance.

However, if you still need to install Windows 7 Pro, follow the steps below:


Step 1: Check System Requirements

Before installing Windows 7 Pro, make sure your PC meets the minimum system requirements:

  • Processor: 1 GHz or faster (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • RAM: 1 GB (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
  • Storage: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • Graphics: DirectX 9-compatible graphics card with WDDM 1.0 driver
  • Display: 800 × 600 resolution or higher

? Check your PC specs:
Press Win + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter.


Step 2: Download Windows 7 Pro

Since Microsoft has removed official Windows 7 downloads, you must have:

  1. A Windows 7 Professional ISO file (from an old backup or trusted source).
  2. A valid Windows 7 Pro product key (25-character code).

If you already have an ISO file:

  • Use Rufus to create a bootable USB drive.

  • Alternatively, burn the ISO file to a DVD.


Step 3: Install Windows 7 Pro

  1. Insert the Windows 7 bootable USB or DVD into your PC.
  2. Restart your PC and enter the Boot Menu (Press F2, F12, Esc, or Delete).
  3. Select the USB drive or DVD drive as the boot device.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions: 
    • Choose language, time, and keyboard settings, then click Next.
    • Click Install Now.
    • Enter your Windows 7 Pro product key (you can skip this and activate later).
    • Accept the license termsand choose: 
      • Upgrade (if upgrading from Windows Vista).
      • Custom (for a fresh installation).
    • Select the drive where Windows 7 will be installed (format if necessary).
  5. The installation will take 15-30 minutes, and your PC will restart several times.


Step 4: Activate Windows 7 Pro

  1. Click Start and go to Control Panel > System and Security > System.
  2. Scroll down and click Activate Windows now.
  3. Enter your 25-character Windows 7 Pro product key.
  4. Click Activate and follow the instructions.

Activation Complete! Your Windows 7 Pro is now fully set up.


Troubleshooting Activation Issues

If online activation fails, try phone activation:

  1. Press Win + R, type slui 4, and press Enter.
  2. Select your country and call the Microsoft activation number.
  3. Follow the automated instructions to activate Windows.


Since Windows 7 is no longer supported, activation servers might not always work. If activation fails, consider upgrading to Windows 10 or 11.
