Step 1: Check System Requirements

Before installing Windows 10 Pro, ensure your PC meets the minimum system requirements:

  • Processor: 1 GHz or faster with at least 2 cores on a compatible 64-bit processor
  • RAM: 2 GB (32-bit) or 4 GB (64-bit)
  • Storage: 20 GB (32-bit) or 32 GB (64-bit)
  • Graphics: DirectX 9-compatible graphics card with WDDM 1.0 driver
  • Display: 800 × 600 resolution or higher

Check if your PC is compatible: Press Win + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter to check system specs.


Step 2: Download Windows 10 Pro

  1. Go to the official Microsoft Windows 10 download page:
    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10
  2. Click "Download tool now" to get the Media Creation Tool.
  3. Run the tool and select "Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC".
  4. Choose Windows 10 Pro, select 64-bit architecture, and click Next.
  5. Select one of the following: 
    • USB flash drive: The tool will create a bootable USB.
    • ISO file: Save the file and burn it to a DVD later.


Step 3: Install Windows 10 Pro

If Upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Pro:

  1. Open Settings (Win + I) > Update & Security > Activation.
  2. Click Change product key, enter your Windows 10 Pro product key, and click Next.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade.

If Performing a Clean Installation:

  1. Insert the bootable USB drive or Windows 10 Pro DVD.
  2. Restart your PC and boot from the installation media (Press F2, F12, Delete, or Esc to access the Boot Menu).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions, select Windows 10 Pro, and format the drive if necessary.
  4. Complete the setup and log in.


Step 4: Activate Windows 10 Pro

  1. Open Settings (Win + I) > Update & Security > Activation.
  2. Click Change product key and enter your 25-character Windows 10 Pro key.
  3. Click Next, then Activate.

Activation Complete! Your Windows 10 Pro is now fully set up.


Troubleshooting Activation Issues

  • Ensure you're using a valid Windows 10 Pro online retail product key.
  • Check your internet connection and try again.
  • If upgrading from Windows 10 Home, verify that your license supports Windows 10 Pro.
